Abstrakt: This article presents the findings of a retrospective single-center study that aimed to identify risk factors associated with infectious complications following endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in liver transplant recipients. The study analyzed 285 elective ERCP interventions performed in 88 liver transplant patients and found that male gender, prednisolone therapy, complex bile duct interventions, delayed antibiotic treatment, and a history of post-ERCP infections were independent risk factors for infections. Patients with ischemic type biliary lesion (ITBL) were particularly susceptible due to incomplete drainage. The study emphasizes the importance of close monitoring and timely antibiotic prophylaxis in this population. [Extracted from the article]
