A study published in the journal Endoscopy discusses the use of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to automate the detection and differentiation of cystic versus solid pancreatic lesions during endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) examinations. The researchers developed a real-time AI-powered EUS imaging analysis software called PANC-AI, which was tested on 202 patients. The software demonstrated high accuracy in detecting and segmenting cystic pancreatic lesions and solid pancreatic masses. The authors suggest that with further improvements, this technology could enhance the learning curve and operating characteristics of EUS for pancreas examinations. [Extracted from the article] |
