This article examines the effectiveness of adding acetic acid chromoendoscopy (AEC) to conventional observation (CO) in the pretreatment assessment of colonic neoplasms. The study collected endoscopic images of 30 colonic neoplastic lesions and had nine endoscopists with varying levels of experience assess the lesions for pretreatment diagnosis. The results showed that the additional effect of acetic acid in predicting colonic neoplasms, including submucosal invasion depth, was limited across all three groups of physicians. However, highly experienced endoscopists with magnifying observation skills had higher interobserver agreement in pretreatment diagnosis. [Extracted from the article] |
