Abstrakt: This systematic review and meta-analysis compared the efficacy, safety, and satisfaction outcomes of remimazolam and propofol for sedation during gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures. The study analyzed twelve randomized controlled trials involving 4,103 patients. The results showed that remimazolam had a slightly lower sedation success rate and longer induction time compared to propofol. However, remimazolam had a lower risk of respiratory depression, hypotension, hypotension requiring treatment, and bradycardia. Patient satisfaction was also higher with remimazolam. The study concluded that remimazolam is clinically similar to propofol in terms of efficacy, but has a better safety profile and greater patient satisfaction, regardless of age.
