Abstrakt: This document is a letter published in the Journal of Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology titled "What remains after CS lead extraction?" The letter discusses the incidence of coronary sinus (CS) branch occlusion following CS lead extraction. The authors conducted a retrospective study at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) and found that a minority of patients had occlusion of the CS branch that housed their original CS lead. However, all patients with branch occlusion had successful reimplantation in an alternative patent CS branch. The study also found that the majority of patients had their reimplanted CS lead in an alternative CS branch. The authors conclude that CS lead extraction and reimplantation is safe and feasible in appropriately selected patients.
