The article "Smilax borneensis A.DC. (Smilacaceae): an addition to the flora of India" reports the discovery of a new plant species in India. The authors found specimens of the plant in the Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh and identified them as Smilax borneensis A. DC., a species not previously known in India. The article provides a detailed description of the plant's characteristics, habitat, and distribution, along with color photographs for identification. The authors highlight the need for further research to document and study the Smilacaceae family in the northeastern region of India.
