The continuous increase in the volume of road traffic leads to significant environmental and economic problems. In modern cities, car traffic also creates many preconditions for traffic accidents. This requires measures related to the optimization and management of road traffic. This can be modeled with the help of software products, which will allow finding the right solution for critical situations. The spatial and temporal characteristics of car traffic are estimated on the basis of statistical data. Simulations of critical sections have been made. Through the new method with VISSIM software, a traffic simulation was made through the intersection, where a total intensity of 5.155 u/h was established. The results show that 81% of them are passenger cars, 18% trucks and 1% urban passenger transport. To unload the road junction and the two boulevards in the city from the transit flow, a simulation was made without the tracks. In this case, the total traffic intensity is 4.064 u/h, which consists of 99% passenger cars and 1% urban passenger vehicles. When lorries are diverted outside the junction, the average speed of passenger cars increases by 20.1%. The traffic reduction at the junction is 21.16% and this can have a positive impact on road capacity, accident risk and noise pollution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
