Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in Puducherry, India, examined the recovery of cardiovascular parameters in children with multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C) caused by the coronavirus. The study followed a cohort of 69 children and assessed left ventricular function, coronary artery abnormalities, and COVID-19 antibody titers at admission, 1.5 months, and 3 months. The findings showed that severe left ventricular dysfunction normalized within 6-7 weeks, while mild to moderate dysfunction reached normalcy by two weeks. However, persistent diastolic dysfunction and residual impairment of median segmental strain were observed at three months, indicating the need for long-term follow-up. [Extracted from the article]
