Abstrakt: Researchers from the School of Advanced Sciences in Vellore, India have conducted a study on the use of pyrediyne quantum dots (PDYQDs) for bioimaging applications. PDYQDs are known for their improved electrical conductivity and have potential applications in various electronic devices. The researchers successfully enhanced the photoluminescence properties of PDYQDs by functionalizing them with aqueous agents, resulting in a significant increase in emission quantum yield. The functionalized PDYQDs were found to be cytocompatible and were used for bioimaging of mouse fibroblast cells. The study suggests that surface functionalization techniques can enhance the applications of carbon-based nanostructures in biological and optoelectronic devices. [Extracted from the article]
