A new report from the University of Medicine in Targu Mures, Romania presents the benefits of using negative pressure wound therapy for post-operative wounds. The study compared two groups of patients, one receiving negative pressure wound therapy and the other receiving conventional wound therapy. The results showed that negative pressure wound therapy led to faster healing times, reduced healing costs, better pain management, and earlier return to normal activities. The study concludes that negative pressure wound therapy is an effective treatment option for devitalized and infected post-operative wounds. [Extracted from the article] |
