A systematic review conducted by researchers at the University of Campania in Italy examined the prevalence of burnout syndrome among medical students. The review analyzed 64 studies that focused on medical students, evaluated burnout using validated tools, and provided prevalence data on burnout. The results showed that the prevalence of burnout among medical students ranged from 5.6% to 88%, with several predictors identified, including negative life events and poor motivation.
