Abstrakt: Researchers at the Catholic University of Brasilia have conducted a study on the in vitro antiviral activity of two host defense peptides against Human alphaherpesvirus 1 (HHV-1). The peptides IDR-1018 and DJK-6 were found to inhibit HHV-1 replication at non-toxic concentrations, with IDR-1018 showing higher potency and a better safety profile. The study suggests that DJK-6 may interfere with virus entry and viral biosynthesis. This research provides valuable insights into the development of new antiviral compounds for therapeutic purposes.
