Abstrakt: Researchers from the University of Connecticut have developed dissolvable microneedles for the treatment of skin wounds. The microneedles are engineered to carry a protein called rhPRG4, which has been shown to modulate the inflammatory function of macrophages and promote wound healing. In vitro and in vivo experiments have demonstrated that the microneedles effectively deliver rhPRG4, leading to a decrease in inflammatory biomarkers and an increase in angiogenesis and collagen deposition. This research offers a promising platform for skin wound healing applications. [Extracted from the article]
