A recent study conducted by the University of Oxford aimed to rank the efficacy and safety of various treatments for endometriosis-related pain and quality of life. The study analyzed 165 randomized control trials involving 26,762 participants and investigated 48 medical, 13 complementary and alternative medicines (CAMs), and 16 surgical interventions. Preliminary analysis suggested that acupuncture, olive oil, fatty acid supplements, contraception + Chinese medicines, Chinese medicine, and vitamin C&E demonstrated a reduction in pain compared to placebo. The findings of this study have the potential to guide treatment decisions and the development of guidelines for endometriosis. [Extracted from the article] |
