Abstrakt:	A recent study conducted by researchers from Jichi Medical University in Saitama, Japan investigated the effects of chloride loading on patients with hyperglycemic emergencies and acute kidney injury (AKI). The study included 390 hospitalized adult patients with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and hyperosmolar hyperglycemic syndrome (HHS). The patients were divided into high and low chloride groups based on the amount of chloride administered within the first 48 hours of their arrival. The analysis showed that chloride loading had no significant impact on recovery from AKI or major adverse kidney events within 30 days. This study provides valuable insights into the treatment of AKI in patients with hyperglycemic emergencies. [Extracted from the article]
