According to the Yangtze River's ecological and pollution protection measures, the government has taken steps to safeguard its ecology and pollution reduction. As a result, functional chemical companies were shifted from near the Yangtze River to a new area close to Industry Park. This environmental protection adjustment has posed a challenge being subjected to the employee's relocation. In light of these circumstances, the critical question arises: Are the employees of these chemical companies willing to make the move with their employers? Understanding their willingness to relocate and the potential consequences for both the companies and the workforce becomes crucial. To delve into this matter, a study was conducted against the backdrop of this relocation initiative and a questionnaire survey among employees of chemical enterprises near the Three Gorges Dam of the Yangtze River was carried out. The study found that gender, promotion opportunities, and listening to employees had a significant positive influence relationship on employees' willingness to relocate. This study further found that the results differed by gender. For females, promotion opportunities, work environment, and comfort had a significant positive influence on employees' willingness to relocate; for males, average annual income and listening to employees' opinions had a significant positive influence on employees' willingness to relocate.
