Abstrakt: This article, titled "A Protein from the Aerial Part of Arundo donax and its Hypoglycemic Activity," discusses the research conducted on the protein content and amino-acid composition of Arundo donax, a perennial cereal plant used in Eastern folk medicine. The study found that the protein composition of A. donax contains 17 amino acids, including essential amino acids. The protein was also found to have a hypoglycemic effect in hyperglycemic rats, reducing blood sugar levels by up to 38.4% compared to the control group. The results suggest that the protein from A. donax could be beneficial for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. [Extracted from the article]
