Abstrakt: A recent report from the University of Oklahoma discusses the development of a new Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based pandemic prediction framework called iPREDICT. The framework aims to use data from connected and wearable biosensing devices to monitor anomalies in biomarkers at the individual level and correlate them with similar anomalies in the community. By analyzing the spatiotemporal growth of these anomalies, iPREDICT can potentially detect and predict the emergence of a local outbreak in near real-time. The report also highlights the challenges and considerations that need to be addressed to make iPREDICT a globally deployable solution for pandemic prediction and management. A case study on COVID-19 is presented to provide insights into the design challenges of iPREDICT. [Extracted from the article]
