A study conducted by researchers at Anhui Medical University in Hefei, China, has found that the angiotensin II type 2 receptor (AT2R) plays a role in liver repair and regeneration. The AT2R deactivates the Hippo signaling pathway, which contributes to the repair and regeneration processes in the liver. The study also found that interleukin-6 upregulates the expression of the AT2R in hepatocytes. The researchers suggest that the AT2R could be a potential target for the treatment of liver damage.
