Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at University Hospital in Kolding, Denmark, explored the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as a diagnostic tool for detecting and characterizing deep venous thrombosis (DVT) in the ilio-femoro-caval veins. The study included patients with DVT in the lower extremities that extended to the iliac veins. The researchers compared the accuracy of MRI with digital subtraction phlebography (DSP), which is considered the gold standard. The results showed that MRI was a sensitive method for analyzing DVT in the pelvic veins, offering advantages such as no radiation or contrast and the ability to investigate anatomical relationships in the area.
