A patent application has been submitted for a system and method of treating pain in the head and neck by stimulating the occipital nerve. The current treatments for headaches and head pain have limited effectiveness and potential side effects. The proposed method involves inserting electrodes into the neck to stimulate the occipital nerve while avoiding activation of non-target fibers.
