A systematic review conducted by researchers from the Ministry of Defence in Leon, Spain, examined the methodological features of periodontal health research in military personnel. The review analyzed 88 studies published between 1921 and 2020, primarily focusing on American military personnel and conducted in the English language. The studies predominantly used descriptive approaches and assessed periodontal health using various indexes. The researchers concluded that differences in sample characteristics, study design, and index usage may limit the comparability of study results. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in BMJ Military Health. [Extracted from the article] |
