Abstrakt: A systematic review conducted by researchers at the Royal College explores the prevalence and risk factors of gout and hyperuricemia. The review includes eleven studies with a total of 204,759,079 patients diagnosed with gout and/or hyperuricemia. The findings indicate a rising incidence of gout and hyperuricemia globally, with males being more affected than females. Risk factors such as older age, obesity, male gender, sedentary lifestyle, purine-rich diet, and lower educational levels were found to impact blood uric acid concentration. The researchers suggest the need for international cooperation efforts to address and improve the care of these high-risk populations. [Extracted from the article]
