The relevance of the topic is due to the need to improve the safety of civil aviation aircraft, reduce operating costs and increase the competitiveness of engines by ensuring their protection from foreign objects from the airfield surface. Foreign objects are: runway wear particles (for example, concrete particles, crushed granite), dust, ice, water, snowplow wires, birds, and so on. Foreign objects entering the engines cause unacceptable damage to the compressor blades, and in some cases their destruction. The destruction of the compressor blades can lead to the destruction of the engine in flight. To solve these problems, the article discusses possible methods that reduce or prevent objects from hitting the air intake. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
