A recent study from Harbin Medical University explores the role of protein degradation systems in colorectal cancer (CRC). The study highlights the importance of the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) and autophagy-lysosome system in managing protein homeostasis and cell survival. The researchers emphasize the interplay between these pathways and their impact on the initiation and progression of CRC. Simultaneously targeting both protein degradation pathways may offer new possibilities for enhancing treatment efficacy against CRC. The study underscores the need for a comprehensive understanding of these mechanisms to clarify the onset and progression of CRC. [Extracted from the article] |
