Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at Yangzhou University in China has found that lithocholic acid (LCA) can alleviate inflammation and oxidative stress caused by deoxynivalenol (DON) in porcine intestinal epithelial cells. DON is a common mycotoxin that can induce intestinal inflammation and damage in humans and animals. The study identified the nuclear receptor PPAR gamma as a key factor in the inflammatory and oxidative stress processes, and found that LCA can reprogram the transcription of core inflammatory and antioxidant genes through PPAR gamma-mediated epigenetic mechanisms. This research highlights the potential protective effects of LCA in mitigating the harmful effects of DON-induced inflammation and oxidative stress. [Extracted from the article]
