A new report from Puerta de Hierro University Hospital presents fresh data on infective endocarditis. The research focuses on mycotic aneurysm (MA) in patients with infective endocarditis and its impact on outcomes. The study found that MA occurred in 2% of patients with infective endocarditis, with half of the cases occurring in an intracranial location. Rupture of MA was associated with poor prognosis, and early specific treatment showed potential for better outcomes.
