A study conducted by researchers at Belmont University explores strategies for building the resilience of public health systems to disasters. The study utilized the United Nations Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Public Health System Resilience Scorecard in workshops across multiple countries. Through a modified Delphi method, the researchers identified and prioritized 23 strategies for strengthening public health system resilience, including integrating multidisciplinary teams, improving emergency plans, and managing an influx of patients. The study demonstrates how these strategies can inform disaster risk reduction funding, policies, and actions. [Extracted from the article] |
