Abstrakt: This letter published in the Journal of Neurology discusses the diagnosis of tumefactive demyelinating lesions, which are large lesions in the central nervous system. These lesions can be associated with multiple sclerosis (MS), neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD), myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) associated disorders (MOGAD), as well as with viral infections, vasculitis, and systemic autoimmune diseases. The letter presents a case study of a young female patient with vision loss and left sensorimotor hemisyndrome due to these lesions. The patient was eventually diagnosed with MS and received treatment. The article discusses the use of advanced MRI techniques in diagnosing these lesions and highlights the unusual imaging pattern.
