Cervical cancer is a significant public health issue in China, accounting for a large portion of global cases and deaths. China has implemented various public health interventions to eliminate cervical cancer, including screening and vaccination programs. The primary cause of cervical cancer is persistent infection with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) genotypes. Preventive strategies focus on early detection through screening and prophylactic vaccination against HPV. China has set ambitious goals to increase vaccination rates and screening coverage, but challenges such as vaccine hesitancy and limited access to healthcare in rural areas need to be addressed. Ongoing commitment, education, and research are crucial for achieving the goal of eliminating cervical cancer in China. [Extracted from the article] |
