Abstrakt: This article, published in Dermatology Reports, compares the cost of conventional and biological systemic therapies for the management of moderate-to-severe psoriasis. Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that affects both adults and children. The available treatments for moderate-to-severe psoriasis include conventional systemic drugs and systemic biological drugs. The study conducted a cost estimation and found that TNF-α biosimilar inhibitors were more cost-effective compared to conventional DMARDs, despite being among the first-line therapies. However, the study acknowledges the limitations of the small sample size and lack of randomization, suggesting the need for larger prospective studies to validate the results.
