The machining process using the mist cooling method reduces the use of cooling media. Reducing the cooling media and reducing process costs also reduces the waste generated in the machining process. One of the cooling media using the mist cooling method is palm oil. The use of the mist cooling method is not as good as the wet cooling method. Improving the performance of the mist cooling method can be done by adding a solid lubricant. In this titanium machining method, the mist cooling method is used with palm oil media and added solid lubricant Wolfram disulfide (WS2) and TiO2 particles. The solid lubricant used is 0.5; 1 and 1.5 grams/100 ml of palm oil. The spindle speed used is 250, 370, and 600 rpm. Based on the analysis using the Taguchi method, the optimum variation was obtained for 0.75-gram tungsten disulfide, 0.1-gram titanium dioxide, and 394 rev/min spindle speed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
