Abstrakt: Umah Rabung was designed for the Dutch colonial officials in Takengon City, which then was owned and used by the local community after the independent era. Nowadays, Umah Rabung Lime is slowly being forgotten because it is starting to disappear from the city landscape due to a lack of public appreciation and the introduction of modern building styles. Such conditions can lead to the loss of important architectural cases that have ever shaped the landscape of Takengon. This study aimed to identify the characteristics of the facade typology of Umah Rabung Lime in the colonial period in order to provide scientific knowledge and is expected to be a reference for the government in preserving architectural heritage. The research method was qualitative-descriptive with a facade typology approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results revealed that there are some characteristics of the house: a separation between the main and service areas, a pentagonal roof (rabung lime), a hip roof, and a gable roof, and a third of the facade of the building in the form of a pentagon that protrudes forward.
