Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the University of Sao Paulo (USP) examined the effects of carbohydrate (CHO) supplementation with different glycemic indexes (GI) on cycling performance. The study involved 13 male cyclists who cycled for a total of 100 minutes at varying intensities, followed by a 20-minute time trial. The results showed that trehalose supplementation improved time-trial performance compared to a placebo, while no significant differences were observed between the other supplements. The study concluded that trehalose may be an appropriate CHO source for exercise tasks up to 2 hours. [Extracted from the article]
