Abstrakt: Researchers at Shonan Kamakura General Hospital have reported a case of phlegmonous colitis, a rare complication, in an immunosuppressed patient following a cold snare polypectomy (CSP) procedure. The patient, an 78-year-old man with chronic myelomonocytic leukemia, developed symptoms such as fever, chills, and abdominal pain after the procedure. The researchers suggest that immunosuppressed patients should be cautious when considering CSP, and that thorough bowel preparation and prophylactic antibiotic use may be necessary to mitigate the risks. The study was published in Case Reports in Gastroenterology. [Extracted from the article]
