Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by Tel Aviv University in Israel aimed to investigate factors associated with pediatric feeding disorders (PFD) among different age groups. The researchers analyzed medical records of 253 children diagnosed with PFD and found that infants under 1 year old with PFD had distinct characteristics and outcomes compared to older children. The study revealed that younger children with PFD were more likely to be girls, preterm, have more hospitalizations, and require more prescription medications. Additionally, disturbances in oral intake were primarily linked to feeding skills dysfunction in the younger group and nutritional dysfunction in the older group. The researchers concluded that tailored treatment strategies are necessary based on the age of presentation of PFD. [Extracted from the article]
