A new report from St. Marianna University School of Medicine in Kawasaki, Japan, discusses the prognostic implications of exercise stress echocardiography (ESE) in asymptomatic patients with low-gradient severe aortic stenosis (AS). The study found that patients with low-gradient severe AS had worse prognoses compared to those with moderate AS. The mitral E/e' ratio during exercise was identified as a useful parameter for risk stratification in patients with low-gradient severe AS. This research provides valuable insights into the prediction of symptoms development and aortic valve replacement in patients with low-gradient severe AS. [Extracted from the article] |
