A recent study conducted by researchers at Albert Einstein College of Medicine examined the efficacy and durability of intravenous ertapenem therapy for recalcitrant hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a debilitating skin disorder. The study involved a retrospective review of medical records of 98 patients with HS who received treatment with intravenous ertapenem. The results showed significant improvements in clinical severity, markers of inflammation, and patient satisfaction.
