A recent study conducted by researchers from the Polish Academy of Sciences has explored the potential of spermine therapy. The researchers synthesized a series of linear polyamidoamines using endogenous polyamines, including spermine. These polymers demonstrated strong antibacterial activity against strains such as E. Coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The study suggests that these polymers could be used in the development of drug carriers and biologically active compounds, particularly in dermatology and cosmetology. However, it should be noted that the polymers obtained from spermine and norspermidine were found to be cytotoxic in high concentrations. [Extracted from the article] |
