A recent study conducted at the University of Texas Medical Branch discusses the rare occurrence of odontogenic sarcomas, which account for less than 5% of all Maxillofacial Sarcomas. This type of cancer primarily affects younger individuals, with the posterior mandible being the most commonly affected site. Diagnosis can be challenging, and surgery is the main treatment option, although the role of chemotherapy and radiation therapy is unclear. The study presents a case of a 30-year-old female patient with odontogenic sarcoma that affected her airway, discussing the treatment and postoperative course in detail.
