Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted by the University of Toledo in Ohio examined the use of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) in addition to antiplatelet therapy (APT) for patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The study found that while DOACs did not decrease the risk of cardiovascular death or myocardial infarction, they were associated with a lower risk of stroke and systemic embolization (SSE) and all-cause mortality. However, the use of DOACs also increased the risk of major and nonmajor bleeding. The researchers concluded that the benefits and risks of this approach should be considered based on individual patient characteristics. [Extracted from the article] |
