Abstrakt: This article examines the effects of high altitude on oral health. It explains that as altitude increases, air pressure and oxygen concentration decrease, resulting in physiological changes in the body. The article discusses various impacts on bodily functions such as breathing, heart rate, red blood cell production, urination, sleep, appetite, and gastric health. It also highlights specific oral health problems that can arise at high altitudes, including salivary changes, dental anesthesia, inflammation, dental fluorosis, and barodontalgia. The article concludes by summarizing the major findings related to oral health in high-altitude areas and emphasizes the importance of practicing good oral hygiene for individuals living at or traveling to high altitudes.
