The article discusses the importance of timely detection and treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF) in order to reduce the disease burden associated with this condition. The authors highlight the heterogeneity of AF and the need for individualized treatment approaches. They also discuss a study on the feasibility of AF screening using a mobile electrocardiogram device, which found that screening during GP office visits had the highest yield of new AF diagnoses. Additionally, the article presents a comparison of two different pulmonary vein isolation procedures and a survey on interventions to prevent postoperative AF.
