Abstrakt: Alpha decay half-lives of heavy and superheavy nuclei are studied by using eight different nuclear potentials such as Denisov potential (DP00), Christensen and Winther potential (CW), Broglia and Winther potential 1991 (BW91), Aage Winther potential (AW95), Bass 1973 (Bass73), Bass 1977 (Bass77), Bass 1980 (Bass80) and nuclear proximity 2000 (Prox00). Alpha decay half-lives produced by these potentials are compared with that of experiments. Alpha decay half-lives resulting from Prox00 show good agreement with the experimental data. The deviations produced by these potentials are predicted using statistical parameters such as root mean square deviation σ , mean deviation ( δ ¯ ), index f ¯ and root mean square error. The Prox00 nuclear potential exhibits minimal deviations when predicting experimental half-lives in heavy and superheavy nuclei, outperforming seven other potential models. Hence, Prox00 may be used to predict alpha decay half-lives of heavy and superheavy nuclei. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
