The article discusses the construction of a primate canopy trail at the Saint Louis Zoo. The project involved the fabrication of structural steel by The Gateway Company of Missouri and the use of bending and rolling techniques by Max Weiss Co. The steel fabrication required precise coordination and layout techniques to fit the paths through the trees. The project also involved adapting the design due to sizing restrictions and using a combination of weathering steel and carbon steel. The finished exhibit, made from Cor-Ten steel, was well-received and considered a career highlight for those involved. [Extracted from the article] |
