Researchers from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon have conducted a study on the hepatoprotective effect of Flourensia cernua (Fc) against damage induced by ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) in Wistar rats. The study found that Fc displayed anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity at a dosage of 200mg/kg and was not toxic. It proved to be hepatoprotective against I/R, reducing the severity of liver damage. This research provides valuable insights into potential treatments for liver transplantation complications.
