Abstrakt: Researchers from the University of Guadalajara in Mexico have published a new study on liver cancer. The study focused on the effects of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development. The researchers found that NAC has hepatoprotective effects, preserving liver structure, reducing fibrogenesis, and inhibiting cell proliferation. NAC also demonstrated antioxidant properties by regulating the Nrf2 signaling pathway and preventing DNA oxidative damage. The study suggests that NAC could be used as an adjuvant therapy in the treatment of HCC. [Extracted from the article]
