A new study conducted by researchers in the Radiodiagnosis Department has found that rhabdomyosarcoma, a type of cancer, can metastasize to the breast, although this is rare. The study presented the case of a 20-year-old girl who initially presented with swelling and pain in her left hand, which was later diagnosed as a malignant spindle cell tumor. Two months later, she developed rapidly growing bilateral breast masses, which were found to be metastatic rhabdomyosarcoma. The researchers emphasize the importance of being aware of the risk of breast metastasis in female patients with primary extra-mammary rhabdomyosarcoma. [Extracted from the article] |
