Abstrakt: A research project called KOODAC, led by Martin Eilers from the University of Wurzburg, aims to develop drugs that can target and eliminate cancer cells in children. The project is funded with up to $25 million by Cancer Grand Challenges, a global funding initiative. The team consists of researchers, patient advocates, and industry partners from the US, UK, France, Austria, and Germany. The research focuses on using a new technology called "Target Protein Degradation" to develop drugs that can break down oncoproteins, which drive cancer growth. These drugs, known as "degraders," are not toxic and have fewer side effects compared to chemotherapy or radiation. The team is specifically working on developing drugs for five common childhood cancers. [Extracted from the article]
