A retrospective case series study conducted by the University and University Hospital of Liege aimed to investigate the outcomes of patients with lower limb loss who used a training prosthesis (TP) during rehabilitation. The study reviewed the medical records of 171 patients and found that those who used a TP had a significantly shorter hospital length of stay compared to those who did not. The length of stay for patients with TP was influenced by factors such as a higher body mass index, tibial amputation instead of femoral amputation, and male gender. However, no association was found between the use of TP and discharge destination, functional level, number of socket modifications, and number of sockets required. [Extracted from the article] |
